Erika does it again

Date Published: 22 Aug 2008

It seems there’s just no stopping our super skilled winemaking team. When they’re on a winning streak, the awards just keep rolling in.

Just last night we received yet more proof of this exceptional talent, passion and dedication. Erika Obermeyer, Graham Beck Wines Franschhoek winemaker walked off with top honours at the annual South African National Young Wine Show (SANYWS).

This was the third time in four years that Erika has done us proud with this prestigious achievement. The Graham Beck Pheasants’ Run Sauvignon Blanc 2008 received the John McDonald Trophy for the Best Sauvignon Blanc on Show.

Erika is passionate about Sauvignon Blanc and this multi-faceted variety’s potential. She admires the fresh, vibrant and pure aromas found in top class examples of this wine and strives to capture the freshness and essence of the fruit.

This fantastic feat comes hot on the heels of another coup for Graham Beck Wines. Last month Erika landed the title of Woman Winemaker of the Year, proving her worth as one of South Africa’s leading ladies in the field of winemaking talent and role model potential. Erika has been a finalist in this hotly contested competition for three years running, demonstrating a track record of note.

We will release and start shipping The Graham Beck Pheasants’ Run Sauvignon Blanc 2008 to our customers as of next week.
