Sometimes overshadowed by the success of the Franschhoek chefs, custodians of the ‘Gourmet Capital of SA’ mantle, the Vignerons de Franschhoek are challenging the long-established wine-producing areas with meaningful strides in quality in recent years. With 42 active wineries and a hectareage responsible for roughly one percent of the national plantings, Franschhoek boasts many of the most innovative and progressive producers in SA among its wine farms.
